My Experience At Changi YumCha Restaurant

[Food Review]

YumCha restaurant is located inside this building (left photo), it's near this red building over here. (right photo)

We had quite a difficulty looking for the restaurant as it's located at a corner. But nevertheless, thanks to Damien (UncleTehPeng) good sense of direction, we manage to find it! Hahaha!

Ambiance of the restaurant is good. To be honest, I've never been to any Yum Cha restaurant before. The one located at Changi Business Park just open recently, and I heard from my friends that this restaurant's concept at  is slightly different as compared to the one at Chinatown.

FIRST UP ON THE MENU

A P3055654_副本

I really really like the custard bun! So awesome! It's best served and eaten while its hot! Peeled open the custard bun and the filling flows out like there's no tomorrow! Hahaha!

A P3055666_副本

Did you know at the Changi outlet, you can place your order using the iPad?! Super awesome! Me and Damien loved the custard bun so much we ordered more of it! Hahaha!

Prawn & Mango Sesame Fritter
Love the combination of prawn and mango, and this is the first time I had mango served hot. The sesame fritters gave it an extra "something" to it!

I'm allergic to seafood but to my surprise, I didn't have any allergies acting up when I had that, so yea! PLUS POINTS!!!

Baked Mini Tarts
Nothing really special, but, egg tarts makes me happy, at YumCha, it comes in bite sized! ♥

Crispy Red Bean Paste with Banana
Crispy on the outside and soft in the inside, the first bite will taste like red bean and then banana thereafter. I don't know, maybe its just me. I love everything that is fried and crispy! Hahaha!

Crispy Vegetable Spring Roll
Its super crispy on the outside and the vegetables wrapped inside is not those soggy soggy kind like you buy from elsewhere.

HERE COMES THE MAIN LEAD

***TAKE NOTE***
For the H.K. Roast Menu, they only serve with Roast Duck, Char Siew and Roasted Pork, and its only available at the Changi outlet.

Photo above is just for illustration purpose only. Do check with the staff before ordering. :)

AS FOR THE MAIN COURSE

We had century egg and pork congee, and beef brisket noodle. For everyone who loves beef, you should try the beef brisket noodles. For me, I didn't like it alot because the taste of the beef from the soup is too strong. But the beef is very tender though...

A P3055709_副本 A P3055718_副本

For desserts, we had a few but my personal favorites would be the Pomelo Sago in Mango Juice, and Chinese Herbal Jelly.

The Spa-Lon

A P2285493_副本

After a tedious and tiring day at work, or even at school, don't you just wish you can relax, enjoy and pamper yourself to a relaxing massage?!!!

At The Spa-Lon, they have a wide range of services, from face treatment to eye, body and even hands and feet. Making sure you get pampered from head to toe.

SO A FEW DAYS AGO
I visited The Spa-Lon, located at Tiong Bahru Plaza, #05-08/09.

The layout of The Spa-Lon is very clean and neat, it gives me a very calm feeling as the lighting and music is just nice, giving me the good hedonic feel.

A P2285496_副本

My appointment was at 3pm and I arrived slightly earlier, so the receptionist offered me warm water before their masseur is ready.

A few minutes later, I was then ushered to a room (Males Only), where I was given a locker to place my belongings, and also shorts and necessities to change into for the body massage that I'm about to have.

Here's The Changing Room

Me changed, and getting ready for my massage

A P2285516_副本

After which, I was brought to this room, where there's a shower inside. The masseur is super nice and gentle! As in, so ladylike that I feel that if I raise my voice she will cry those kind! Hahaha!!!

A P2285506_副本

But yea, I feel that I'm in good hands, because the massage was damn good! Oh by the way, I chose the Toning Body Scrub, where it removes dead cells and other elements on the skin’s surface for more radiant skin.

Honestly, after the whole massage, I feel that my skin is SUPER SMOOTH! NO KIDDING! Like a new born baby! Hahaha!

Throughout the process, it was so relaxing that I wanted to just close my eyes and sleep. Hahaha! When the masseur is doing the massage, she kept asking me am I cold, do I need tissues, and she also initiates conversation, which was good la, to avoid awkward silence. Hahaha!

They also have guy masseurs as well, if you prefer more strength for your body massage. Just let them know. :)

If you guys would like to know, this is what they use for the Body Toning Scrub Massage.

I really love their displays and entire layout. It gives me the super shiok and relaxing feeling! I can't help it but to say this again and again!

When I came out, I was offered tea while waiting for Mag (Modgam). I really enjoyed my experience with The Spa-Lon.

A P2285543_副本

After that, went to have lunch with Mag and we chat A LOT! Hahaha! Can't wait for our next meet up!
Thank you so much for the invite Mag. ^.^

Ramen Champion

[Sponsored Event]

Was invited to attend a food tasting event on 2nd October at Ramen Champion by Malcolm. Thank you so much for the invite, I really appreciate it. :)

I've never eaten at Ramen Champion before, but I've heard people raving about it, so I've decided to attend this event and try it out myself.

 photo RamenChampion.jpg

Before the food tasting session, they actually had another event at earlier in the afternoon, which was the qualifying round of the Ramen Big Eater Challenge, I didn't attend the event so I'm unsure of it.

The final round will be held on 14th November 2013 (Thursday), 3pm to 5pm at Ramen Champion Great World City, (1 Kim Seng Promenade, Great World City, #01-21/22, Singapore 237994).

The outlet at Great World City will be officially open on early November 2013 by the way. :)

For more information you can visit www.ramenchampion.com.sg or their Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/RamenChampionSingapore.

 photo PA023678.jpg

Located: 201 Victoria Street, Bugis+ #4-08/09/10, Singapore 188067
Opening Hours: 11.30am - 10.30pm (Daily), last order at 10pm

First, we were served with the appetizer. Prawn Dipping Sauce With Cracker. We couldn't really taste the prawn, but we did taste abit of garlic inside the sauce though, as for the crackers, its just normal crackers.

Price: $4.00

 photo PA023609.jpg

The Ramen came shortly after we have finished our appetizer. The gave us 2 different bowls of Ramen, the one in red bowl is called Tonkotsu-Ramen Champion and the one in black is Special Tonkotsu Ramen, both priced at $16.50. Tonkotsu-Ramen Champion is more well liked by the ladies, but for me, I like the Special Tonkotsu Ramen instead, because I feel that the soup has lesser flavor. I don't know, maybe its just me. Haha!

Adding on, I like Special Tonkotsu Ramen's rich and milky taste! :D

 photo PA023631.jpg

Gyoza
Price: $6.00

Slightly crispy on the outside, and soft on the inside. Initially I thought seafood would be wrapped inside the skin of the Gyoza, but its not, its pork and added with a dip of the sauce, it goes really well. But the sauce is a tad salty for me though.

 photo PA023641.jpg

Chashu Carpaccio
Price: $7.00

Served with sliced chashu with abit of spice, onions, and cherry tomatoes. Some of them commented that its a tad spicy, but for me, the taste of the spice wasn't there. I think it depends on individuals tastebuds though. I kinda like this dish.

 photo PA023650.jpg

Garlic Butter Potato
Price: $5.00

This WAS very salty!!!! It feels as though I've eaten a tea spoon of salt! But that aside, the potato are nice though! Just remove the salt, it will be alot more better.

 photo PA023653.jpg

Deep-Fried Toufu With Japanese Sauce
Price: $4.00

I really love Deep-Fried Tofu because of its crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. Not forgetting dipping it with sauces. :)

But for Ramen Champion's deep-fried tofu was kind of disappointing as I feel that the skin of their tofu wasn't that crispy as I thought it would be. I think partially is because it is put in with the Japanese sauce, therefore the Tofu have already soaked in the sauce. Maybe if they separate the deep-fried tofu from the Japanese sauce, it will be better.

 photo PA023666.jpg

Sukuyaki Bun
Price: $3

Absolutely love this dish! The bun is like those normal "KONG BAK" bun, but instead of the usual "kong bak", they used sliced marinated pork belly, which turns out awesome! The good part is that when you eat it with your chopsticks, the fillings doesn't drop out at all!

 photo PA023673.jpg

Here's the list of dishes that we have sampled from Mendokoro Aoi, Tonkotsu Itto, and Buta God.

Mendokoro Aoi
Tonkotsu-Ramen Champion - $16.50 (red bowl)
Chashu Carpaccio - $7.00 (sliced chashu salad)
Garlic Butter Potato - $5.00
Prawn Dipping Sauce with Cracker - $4.00
Deep-fried Tofu with Japanese Sauce - $4.00

Tonkotsu Itto
Special Tonkotsu Ramen - $16.50 (black bowl)

 Buta God
 Sukiyaki Bun - $3 each
