Teenage Gorgeous You Café Trail

Last week, Teenage teams organized a cafe hopping session together with the Teenage Gorgeous You 2017 finalists. As we're waiting for everyone to arrive at the venue. The team drop a huge surprise challenge for us, and that is we need to shoot, film, and edit a video by the end of the cafe hopping session and submit it, and it be used as our video and instagram submission. To add on to the difficulty, we will be doing the challenge in pairs and I'm paired up with Tyler (@Tylomere). Good thing I paired with him because he's super easy to work with. We split up the workload with him taking/editing the photos while I shoot/edit the videos. And I must say we worked really well as a team. :)

GRUB Café

Unlike any other cafe's, GRUB is a standalone cafe located at Bishan Park 1. With only trees and ponds surrounding the area, its definitely a good place to hang out if you're looking for somewhere quiet to chill alone or with your friends.

My friend and I was deciding on where to meet so I suggested GRUB since its quite impromptu and its near our home as well, sooo we decided on that place. The time we went was around 2pm so at that time GRUB was serving their brunch menu.





We ordered 2 appetizers; Mentaiko Fries ($9), and Fried Chicken Wings 6 Pieces ($8)
Mains; GRUB Breakfast plate w/ Pork thyme sausage ($16),  3-Cheese Pasta Grain ($12)

Overall its quite filling, and it tastes better as compared to the dinner menu IMO. Cuz previously I came and I had their dinner menu, the burgers and patty were quite dry.









After our brunch, we walked around the park to take some photos and then its home sweet home. Come to think of it. I really enjoy spending time with my friends, catching up with each other's life. I mean, after high school/college, we went our own separate ways. Some went on to work full time, while the boys are now serving their 2 years of national service. Sometimes I wonder how we'll be like 10 years down the road...

Kombi Rocks

Met up with BBF - Qianyi after so many years.... One day we were chatting on whatsapp and we finally agreed to meet up for goodness sake. Qianyi was the one that planned the day like where to have brunch and etc. After much consideration, we settled on Kombi Rocks. Which is situated at Serangoon area.

Unlike any other cafe's you see in Singapore, Kombi Rocks is a Diner which brings you a mixture of Western and Chinese food. Don't expect to see your typical truffle fries in the menu, instead they offer Nachos Cheese Fries W/ Minced Meat, Mee Goreng, and many other local delicacies.

The ambiance is rather old school/retro filled with analog clocks, old school vehicles and etc. They even give you free collectibles when you spend a certain amount there.

Right beside the diners there's this garage looking place where they have many different cars parked there. We saw quite a number of people going there taking pictures with it.

Dolce Tokyo

I'm a crazy fan of poached eggs/eggs benedict. So a few weeks ago, I wanted to go Symmetry Cafe to try put their poached eggs. But sadly, their brunch hour was over. So.... To seek for next best alternative, my friends and headed over to Dolce Tokyo located at level 3 of Bugis Junction.





Absolutely love their poached eggs!!! The egg is runny unlike some cafe's where they cook till the yolk is sooooo hard that its no longer runny anymore. :(

OH MY TIAN THIS IS ORGASM TO THE EYES!!!

Group Therapy Coffee

Hello there everyone. I'm finally back here to this space writing. Hahah! I've been busy with work recently, and that explains the lack of updates at my blog. If you'd like, you can follow me on my twitter and/or instagram @donxkoh for more updates about my life? Hahaha

So anyways. Last week was my off day, so I went for some cafe hopping. Had brunch date at Group Therapy because my friend recommended that cafe as I was told that their portion serving was huge. :D




We were lucky enough that when we reached the place there's seats available for us. I think prolly because its a weekend, that explains why the place is filled with people. Furthermore, I feel that the cafe is relatively small. :/



I ordered their BLT Croissant Plate and request to change to scrambled eggs instead of their usual sunnyside up.

P/S: I forgot what my friend ordered already. LOL!

As for drinks, I ordered their Mint Mocha and my friend ordered the Matcha Latte. The cafe is located on the 2nd level of a shop house. Nearest MRT station is at Outram Park or Tanjong Pagar. Both are walkable distance.

Overall, the serving was huge, but it isn't that fantastic. The scrambled egg was pretty dry, and their bacon was quite hard to be honest. But if you're not very particular and anal about how your food tastes, you can give this cafe a visit. :)
