Teenage Gorgeous You Café Trail

Last week, Teenage teams organized a cafe hopping session together with the Teenage Gorgeous You 2017 finalists. As we're waiting for everyone to arrive at the venue. The team drop a huge surprise challenge for us, and that is we need to shoot, film, and edit a video by the end of the cafe hopping session and submit it, and it be used as our video and instagram submission. To add on to the difficulty, we will be doing the challenge in pairs and I'm paired up with Tyler (@Tylomere). Good thing I paired with him because he's super easy to work with. We split up the workload with him taking/editing the photos while I shoot/edit the videos. And I must say we worked really well as a team. :)

Debunk Your Skincare Myths With Dr. Belmeur

This week's challenge is all about skincare. The fellow team from Teenage have given us finalists the task of finding 5 skincare myths and have them debunk to our followers/readers. EAT.SHOP.PLAY at 313@somerset

Wow, in a blink of an eye it's already the 4th challenge. For this week, it's all about spending the day at 313@somerset aka the Lifestyle Challenge. But there's a twist, the finalists were all given random alphabets and are required to only go to shops with those alphabets on it. So for example if I got "O" as one of my alphabets, I would have to go to shops starting with "O". For instance, "Old Chang Kee", and/or "OWNDAYS". In addition, we need to come up with minimum 4 activities to do at 313@somerset.

For me, I've gotten the alphabets (C. D. J. L. U. Y). It was hard initially because most of the shops with the alphabets that I was given revolves around F&B, so it got me thinking quite hard as to how I'm going to come out with 4 activities to do at the 313@somerset, because I can't be possibly eating for the whole entire day right? But thanks to my friend Angie (@YourApplePie) who happens to be a lifestyle blogger herself, she manage to give me some ideas as to how to make the idea and plan flow. So without further ado, let's get started with this post shall we?








What Is Tring 313?
Tring 313 is a mobile application that brings users a revolutionary service that utilizes location-based targeting technology. It is available on iOS devices (iPhones, iPods and iPads) and helps users discover exclusive offers and promotions from over 170 retailers within 313@somerset, within walking distance from your current location.

How To Use The Tring 313 Mobile App?
First you have to download the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play, (Tring313). Then, you can sign up via FaceBook account (which I did), and allow it to detect your location. Voila, you're done.

Most importantly, the app is FREE for download. Browse offers/deals and to receive application alerts. Once the app has been installed in your iOS device, you will be able to search for offers/deals that you would like to download/purchase. Payment can be made through PayPal or Credit Card.

That summarize my day at 313@somerset. It's definitely a fun experience shopping with only the alphabets given to us. Furthermore, using the Tring 313 mobile app has allowed me to receive and check for deals and offers whenever I'm near 313@somerset's vicinity.

Before I end off this post, here's the video that I did for Challenge 4. It's the first time I step out of my comfort zone to sing and act in front of the public, so pardon me if I look like a awkward penguin. So anyways, here's the video. Enjoy. :)

What's Your Style

For challenge 3, the finalists were given a specific style to embody, and for me, I got Athlete as my theme for this challenge.

So today I will be sharing some of the tips and tricks as to how to achieve that Athlete/Sporty look. For me, style is a personal preference, different people have different style and I can't force you to follow what I'm about to show you in this post, but I do hope that my tips and ideas will be able to give you some inspiration as to how you want to style your pieces next time. Remember, dress to express, not to impress.

Teenage Gorgeous You 2016 Finals

A few days back I attended the Teenage Gorgeous You 2016 finals to support both Benjamin (@benvoda) and Cheow Yi (@cheowster). Its pretty sad that I had to drop out of the competition due to my work commitment but nevertheless, I'm glad that I was able to give Ben a helping for one of his challenges. (:

When they announced Ben as the 1st runner up, I was a tad nervous cuz I really hope and wanted Cheow Yi to take home the grand prize, cuz she really put in ALOT of effort into her blog posts. And when the host announced her as the winner, I was overjoyed. Like a proud daddy seeing his daughter top the whole cohort.

Overall, I'm really really proud of Ben and Cheow Yi for coming out as the top 2 winners for this year's TGY Social Challenge. At least you guys won it fair and square. Unlike some people who had to buy their likes to act as though they have a lot of followers engagement when OBVIOUSLY most of their likes are fake. Urghh! I can't even!!! -.-

P/S: Don't mind me, but I feel a bit unfair to the rest of the contestants who really give it their all and effort for all the challenges. #JustSaying

Dinner with Ben and Angie at Tiramisu Hero and I must say, we nearly died waiting for our food there cuz it was served SO SLOW!!!!!!!!!!!

The 3 of us talked for quite a bit and was so glad that this whole TGY thing is over. Hahaha! And TBH, Ben and I were only online friends till the day we decided to meet out for his 313 @ Somerset challenge. Hahaha!!! I know.... How can right?!?!?! But yea, #SadTruth

I mean, we both know one another's existence but just didn't meet in real life. We only talked via our social media and thats all. But we do have alot of mutual friends cuz #BLOGGERS. Hahahahaha!!!

Ending this post with my outfit for that day. Ben says that I wore until sibei formal for the event itself. Hahahaha!!!

YES YOU GOT THAT RIGHT!!!
I am one of the 10 finalists shortlisted for this years' Teenage Gorgeous You Social Challenge 2016, or in short TGY2016.

It came as a shock to me that I was selected as the finalist cuz the time when I went for the audition there's quite a number of people. Its like going for a job interview just that this time with people who're A LOT younger than me. LOL! And I didn't know they will narrow it down to only 10. (5 males 5 females)

You see, we have Ben (@benvoda) Mr Popular who have at least 1k of likes per photo on his instagram. Its like everyone around me knows his existence!!!! And there's Cheow Yi (@cheowster)?!?!?! She's known for her good writing and super talented!!! (The reason why she bagged home the title of CNOS4 champion!!) Come to think of it, I've taken quite a number of competitions together with Cheow Yi.

Not forgetting the rest of the contestants. They're all so... Gorgeous!!! 

I just feel that this year is gonna be even bigger and better.

The reason for me joining this contest is because I want to relive the joy of taking part in contest challenges. Other than the superficial reasons of wanting to reach out to more people and gain more exposure, I really want to find back the joy in cracking ideas for creative contents. Allowing my brain to be actively thinking about WHAT'S NEXT. You get what I mean?!?! And when you get the feedback and comments from people saying your idea is great and your entry is funny, it really motivates me to work even harder.



What I hope to achieve from this competition is to really have fun and enjoy the process. I mean, to me winning or losing is not really the main objective of this competition, but to enjoy the process is really what matters. I mean, everybody wants to win but sometimes, some people just get too overly obsessed with the thought of winning they totally forget to enjoy themselves and have fun.



The previous contests I've joined not only allow me to have fun but also to widen my circle of friends. Who would have thought that I'll be good friends, or even close friends or clique with the people I've made online?!?! Aforementioned, I also get to try things I've never get to try before. Which is great because it encourages me to step out of my comfort zone and to think out of the box.



I'm really looking forward to knowing what's in store for us. The exciting challenges, and the other contestants that I'm about to meet. Not forgetting that this year they're gonna have this voting system.

To be honest I'm not really a fan of contests with voting system. I just hope the judges will hold more percentage in the judging criteria than the voting. If not it really defeats the purpose of this contest. Might as well just be a popularity contest where we just place our face there and let people vote sua. LOL!
