GRUB Café

Unlike any other cafe's, GRUB is a standalone cafe located at Bishan Park 1. With only trees and ponds surrounding the area, its definitely a good place to hang out if you're looking for somewhere quiet to chill alone or with your friends.

My friend and I was deciding on where to meet so I suggested GRUB since its quite impromptu and its near our home as well, sooo we decided on that place. The time we went was around 2pm so at that time GRUB was serving their brunch menu.





We ordered 2 appetizers; Mentaiko Fries ($9), and Fried Chicken Wings 6 Pieces ($8)
Mains; GRUB Breakfast plate w/ Pork thyme sausage ($16),  3-Cheese Pasta Grain ($12)

Overall its quite filling, and it tastes better as compared to the dinner menu IMO. Cuz previously I came and I had their dinner menu, the burgers and patty were quite dry.









After our brunch, we walked around the park to take some photos and then its home sweet home. Come to think of it. I really enjoy spending time with my friends, catching up with each other's life. I mean, after high school/college, we went our own separate ways. Some went on to work full time, while the boys are now serving their 2 years of national service. Sometimes I wonder how we'll be like 10 years down the road...

Lola's Cafe Again

So last Friday, I was back to Lola's Cafe to have dinner with Andy and Jinglong. Andy told us that he only had to wait for 5 mins despite being told that there are 8 people that was ahead of him.

I ordered their Chicken Burger cuz I really wanted to try it when I was there the previous times and never had the chance to. Jinglong ordered the Minced Mushroom Spaghetti, and Andy ordered the Sausage and Mash. We also ordered the Nachos Cheesefries and their signature Honey Paprika Wings which they are famous for. But I kinda think that their standards have dropped as compared to the last time I went there. Like it's no longer as tasty as before. Just my opinion though.

The Canopy Garden Dining Bar

Sometime in September, a week after my birthday week, I had brunch as well as a caught up session with Mellysa. I still remember how close we were back in our poly year 1 days, but because we had a split in classes therefore we tend to drift a little bit, but thank god we still have that little time for one another. :)

So I was asking Mellysa where shall we go for our brunch, and she suggested Canopy Gardens Bar, which is just located at Bishan Park 2.

Met her around the afternoon and took the bus there. Nearest MRT station is at Ang Mo Kio, you can take bus 262, 133 or 136 from AMK Hub.

If you take bus 133 or 136 you would need to cross over to the other side of the bridge, alight at bus stop no. 54081 Teck Ghee Ct. If you were to take bus 262, alight at bus stop no. 54089 Opp Ang Mo Kio Swimming Complex. Walk up the stairs, slope and keep right, you would be able to see it already.



Before I went there, I tried calling the cafe several times but no one pick up the phone. Right outside the cafe there is this queue standee whereby you key in your mobile number, preference of indoor or outdoor seat, and did you bring any pets along with you. (if I'm not wrong pets are not allowed for indoor seats)




Mellysa and I took the indoor seat as it was SUPER DUPER HOT that day. But I guess it's good to seat at outdoor when it's around evening time, I guess the ambiance will be perfect for timing like the evening or night.

I ordered the Grilled Breakfast - $18 and Mellysa ordered the Eggs Royale - $15.  Anyways, I had a choice of Scrambled eggs or Poach eggs but I choose the latter. WRONG CHOICE! Cuz I find that the poach eggs was a bit over cooked and it taste a bit weird for me, even Mellysa says it tastes weird too.






ANYHOWWW! They have weekdays promotion going on, with Starters, Mains and a Drink with only $15.99, only from Mondays to Fridays, 11am to 2.30pm. Public Holidays not included yea.

The Company Of Cats

Hello. I know, I've been neglecting my blog for quite a while and I didn't really have much updates lately. All thanks to internship. LOL!!!

So anyways, last Sunday, Andy asked me if I wanted to tag along with him and Joyce to go visit a cat cafe, and so I agreed. Located along the street of Chinatown is where The Company Of Cats is situated. Its quite an interesting cafe name I must say, all of their cats comes with a tag and a position that you normally see in a company, such as IT Support, Sales Manager, Intern and etc.



There are 2 rooms, 1 is whereby you just order their food, and you eat it over there, which I find it abit stupid la, if like you just go there to have their food. Another room is where all the cats are. Admission for the first hour is $14 and subsequent half an hour will be $5. Every admission will be entitled to a standard drink.

When you walk up the stairs, you'll be welcomed by the staff over there. They'll let you know the do's and don'ts in the cafe. Payment will be done when you're about to leave.

We ordered their Bakkwa Toasties with Cheese, and it comes with Tortilla chips. IMO, I feel that they could add some cheese dips for their tortilla.




Their toasties comes in a form of a lunch box, which I find it quite cut luh, but my friend told me that it's just stickers stick on top of a box that you could probably get from Daiso. T.T




The room is quite spacious imo, and its filled with pretty decos and kinda nice to chill. Joyce, on the other hand is a cat molester and a crazy fan of cats, she was there with the staff talking about cat related stuff which is probably out of the planet for me to understand. Hahaha!

I was there, chillin, pretending to be classy while having my tortilla chips, while Andy was going around snapping pictures with the cats.





When we went into the room, the cats were mostly asleep. So we can only take pictures of them in hope that they'll wake up so that we can play with them.







At the Company Of Cats, they also have souvenirs for cat lovers like Joyce, to buy and keep. Some are quite adorable IMO. You guys can drop by if you just wanna find a place to chill with your friends. :)




After that, we left for Dhoby Ghaut, went shopping at Daiso, and we still have some time left, before I head to somewhere else and Joyce & Andy could have their dinner. We took massive lots of photos at SOTA.

Kinda embarrassed to take pictures with so many people walking by looking at you, but I guess once you got used to it, it doesn't bother you much anymore. Hahah!

After that, I left to meet Minglong to get some last minute stuff for Garey's surprise celebration, and also to pick Nicole up from Expo. Can I get a good friend award please!!! Hahaha!



Look at that little kid smiling so happily! Hahaha! Also need to thank Hafizah for helping us with this surprise plan, eventhough the reveal that Garey told us was kinda URGHH!!! Hahahah!

Nevertheless, I hope Garey had enjoyed the surprise we planned for him. Hahaha!
