Chinese New Year 2016

Its the joyous season!!! Well not exactly cuz CNY is already over. But now then I'm finally done editing all the photos taken during CNY.

[Chinese New Year Eve]

Normally this is the day where I really look forward to cuz shops are all open for the first half of the day then after which you'll see the whole of Singapore streets looking deserted after 5pm or so.

I remember having a tiff with my 3rd sis in the morning so I left the house to do some window shopping alone at town. My initial decision was to go out, sit at a starbucks and use my lappy. But I ended up shopping for a new wallet and having lunch at Popeyes and headed home thereafter. In the evening, my mom will start prepping the ingredients and dishes needed for the Reunion dinner at night. This year, my sis prepared the soup base for our steamboat. And its tomato based soup!!! :)





While my mom and my eldest is is preparing the dinner, my dad will be doing all the essential praying thingy while me, my 2nd and 3rd sis, my niece and nephew will just hang around the house.

Finally, its done. Here's a family selfie.

So after feasting on our reunion dinner, my family would usually sit at the living room, talk cock sing song and watch the shows that is airing on teevo, to let our tummy digest the food that we have eaten. Then we will go over to Bishan Park to put the Sky Lantern.










After which, my sis's friends will come to my house to "Bai Nian". Usually they will countdown to the new year together with my family la. Also, to play Mahjong till the next morning.

[Chinese New Year Day 1]



Day 1 of the Chinese New Year, where I look forward to wearing the new clothes that I've bought. Can you believe it, I've actually tried on my clothes for more than 5 times?!?!?! Hahaha! Cuz I'm oh so obsessed with this red pullover top that I bought from OSF!!!





Received this really unique "Ang Bao" from my parternal Uncle. It has a word 高 on it, which is my Surname by the way. My cousin told me she got it from Chinatown where they have all kinds of surname on it one.



[Chinese New Year Day 2]

I don't know why, when I was younger, I used to enjoy Chinese New Year. Like I get to see my cousins again and receive lots and lots of "Ang Baos" from relative that I don't even know existed. The joy of celebrating the festive season is there. But in the recent years, the magic has seem to disappear. Like, I'm seeing lesser and lesser relative, now the children have all grown up and they're really reluctant to step out of their house. Its all no longer the same as before....

Okay, nuff said. Day 2. I only went to my Paternal Uncle's house for that day. Had lunch at their house and left for Grace's house cuz she invited me and some of her other friends.





Played a little bit of Blackjack over at Grace's house and steamboat again!!! I am truly grateful that the 4 of us still keep in contact eventhough all of us graduated from our higher nitec days back in 2012. On to our poly days we also manage to meet up for dinner and so. And yes. I really hope this friendship will continue on till the day I'm no longer writing on this space. Hahaha. To infinity and beyond. :)

Happy Chinese New Year

Hello everybodehh! Happy Chinese New Year to all. How's everyone's new year so far? Mine's pretty much mundane as usual. LOL! But here's a compilation of the outfits for my CNY!

You know how for the past few years when instagram is "hot" among the social media enthusiasts??? On the eve of CNY, you will see plenty of steamboat pictures flooding your instagram feed. LOL?! And on day 1 of CNY you will eventually see everyone becoming a model with their OOTDS. Hahaha!

For me, I didn't really do anything on day 1 nor post the steamboat pictures on instagram. But I did join in the OOTD game luh!!! Hahahah! Say real one, on day 1 my feed was literally FLOODED with my followings OOTD pictures but I'm not complaining, because I really liked seeing what others are wearing to get inspiration... "SOMEHOW"... Hahah!

I know you guys wouldn't want to hear the story of how and what I did during the house visits. I mean, every year is pretty much the same??? But as I grow older, I kinda lost the feel of CNY already. Cause, year by year, I think I'm going to lesser and lesser places for house visits. and its kinda sad actually. I still remember when I was younger, I used to go house visiting on day 1 and it will always be packed and my family will be going to lots and lots of relative's houses. But now.... :(

On Day 3
My family went to my uncle's place (my dad's side), and we practically stayed there for the entire day. Hahaha! It was fun, cuz the whole family played blackjack and mahjong. It was a great catching up. Even though I didn't really talk to my cousins. LOLOL!



I was playing black jack and initially on a winning streak. But I ended up losing all my winnings and also my capital. :(((
But okay la, its once in a year anyways, and its for the fun of it. ^.^

Wore the Garfield pullover that I saw at Forever21. I guess its love at first sight? LOL! Cause I really really love it so much!!! It's really comfortable and the material is very thin and you won't be dying out under the humid sun. :D

House Visiting @ Yongqin's & Jiayu's

Day 9 of Chinese Lunar New Year.
Visited Yongqin's house for the first time and we had steamboat! Sort of like a "reunion" dinner for us! Hahaha!



Look at the amount of food on the table! We ate so much that we couldn't move after that! Yongqin's mum was super generous and funny! Hahahah!



Played a little bit of blackjack aka "Ban Luck", was on a winning streak but the rest had to call it off cause we were about to get ready to go to Jiayu's house next! DAYUM!!!

Headed to Jiayu's house after that. Did a little pre celebration for Yongqin's 19th birthday! WTF?!!! That was the age when I met/knew them in year 1 of my Polytechnic life!!! T.T

Yongqin was given tasks to do before she was given a clue to the next present that was hidden in Jiayu's house! Kudos to Mellysa and Jiayu for planning it and also Mooi Suen and BF for buying the cake! ^.^

I will definitely not forget about the guessing of my undergarment part! TSKTSK!!!

Then, we had round 2 of steamboat after the taxing missions that Yongqin had to do! Hahaha!

HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR!

Hello there everybody! How's your Chinese New Year? Well, mine is great so far! Okay not really that great, on a scale of 1 to 10 maybe 6??? Hahaha!!!

I still remember when I was younger, I really love and anticipate CNY! But as I grew older, it kinda gets boring. As in, there's nothing much we can do except house visiting as most of the shops will be close. But to my surprise, cotton on and toastbox are open during CNY this year! So yea.

So I had reunion dinner with my family on the 30th January, which was the eve of Chinese New Year.



One of the main reasons I look forward to CNY! I get to eat lots and lots of food! I really love this kind of atmosphere, where my house will be fully lighted up and it will be so happening, with my sis friends coming over to "Bai Nian" and overnight Mahjong session with my parents. Hahah! But I'll be like some loner in my room using my phone la, or maybe watching the television. Hahaha!

So after having my reunion dinner, I went down my block to play sparkles with my sisters. My 3rd sis decides to be "creative" and made a "rocket" out of sparkles!



After that, we head back home and started chilling and watching television. Some channel 8 live show! Hahah! That pretty much sums up my CNY Eve.

DAY 1
Day 1 of CNY! Did practically nothing. Rotted at home the whole entire day. Waited for my Uncle (My dad's brother) to come over to our house for visiting and that's it. OH! I ordered McDelivery that costs $45.60 and my dad paid for it. Hahaha! Cuz I told him I was angry at him for some reason and VOILA!

But anyway, the Mcdonalds that I ordered is for my family, consisting of My mom, 2 sis, myself and my bro-in-law. So yea! I personally feel its quite expensive but my sis beg to defer. Oh wells.

Later at night, I went to AMK Hub together with my mom to purchase tickets for "THE LION MEN" Yayyyy! And that's Day 1 of my CNY! Hahaha!

DAY 2
Woke up early for McBreakkie with le Mom and Sis! Went back home, and bathed, did the necessary stuff and then off we go for house visiting at our relatives place.
