Getting Your Drivers License In Singapore (2021)!

As seen from the title, you probably would have guessed what this post is about. Yes! I finally got my drivers license. I wanted to jot down my journey over here reason being is that I find it real hard to get information online with only that few YouTube videos that is available and most of the blogposts that people have shared are from eons ago. Before the few days to my Traffic Police Test (TP Test) in short, I even resort to searching information on forums.

There are also many considerations to go through before deciding on getting your license. Examples like which school to enrol, private or school instructors, Auto or Manual. Well, I will list all of them here so that you can decide which one better fits your needs and criteria.

It's really amazing how things have been for me in 2019. I still clearly remember when I wrote my 2018 summary, I mention that many great things IS coming! It really did!

[14th April 2018, 1320]

It's been quite awhile since I last wrote an entry on my blog. Well, part is due to transiting to adulthood, responsibilities start coming in, and I barely have time even for myself.

This entry is written with a heavy heart. Last Saturday, I lost my dearest 3rd Uncle, but the lost can't be compared to my dad losing his precious younger brother.

I witness, I saw, tears rolled down my dad's eyes, he was holding back, and the grievances that he had. That was the first time I saw the vulnerable side of him.

Just a week ago on the 8th April, my paternal family went down to Lim Chu Kang to do our annual visit to our grandparents, (my Dad and Uncle's parents). My 3rd uncle was still pretty lively, energetic, everything seems normal. But a week later, we received news that he was admitted to A&E and is in critical condition.

We have all cried our hearts out, we all wished time could rewind. But the truth is, what has happened, already did. We can only accept the fact that we just lost a family member, and to treasure the people around us more.

Thank you for the love that you have showered me and the rest of your nieces and nephews. You're at a happier place now, keep smiling like you always do. You will always be, and forever remembered deep in our hearts.

Fly From Singapore To Kuala Lumpur

We all know how close Johor Bahru is to Singapore and vice versa. If we feel like crossing the border we're just a bus away. Just December last year, I went for a short day trip to Johor Bahru with 2 of my close friends that I have known since pri school. We all know there's this really famous "Ba Kut Teh" stall near KSL Mall but we opt for something different and went to a Korean restaurant instead. Their operating hours is from Mon–Sun: 12PM–12AM. Price range wise is really good for sharing. Portion wise is also very generous. We also visited the newly open Paradigm Mall and I saw news that they had open an Isaac Toast outlet. So being a die hard fan of the toast I had to give it a try.



Malaysia is known for their really good and affordable food and people just keep coming back for more. But do you know that all these does not just revolve around Johor? There are other parts of Malaysia such a Malacca, Penang and Kuala Lumpur. For instance, somewhere around late 2016 I went on a 3D2N getaway with my army friends, just to get a breather from the mundane things we do in camp.




But lucky I have friends that know how to drive, so we rented a car and drove around Malacca. The above mentioned are still accessible via vehicle in short distance but for longer distance such as Penang and Kuala Lumpur might take some time, so Traveloka Malaysia has approach me to share with my readers on what they have to offer. Are We There Yet?

Hello, hello. To those who are still sticking by my blog and reading all the bits and puzzles of my life that I'm trying to piece together.

It's been quite awhile since I last wrote a personal post. And as much as I keep saying that personal blogging is more or less dead, the lifespan of a person staying on a page to read something is also decreasing. I feel that blogs still has its value and live up to its name to once a platform for brands and advertisers to market their product.

Okay I digress. The reason for me writing this is because of what I fear the world has become, and is going to become. In a age where everything is so superficial, everyone is so attracted to things that are visually appealing and aesthetically pleasing, we fail to look deep upon to what's beneath those carefully curated image. I ask myself, when scrolling through some of my social media, do I really look at what the caption/content is, or do I just look at the image itself. The answer is pretty clear, I'm at guilt myself too. We all are. In contrary to what I've just mentioned, I had a small talk with some of my friends over a meal last month. We realized how some brands and companies are so obsessed with numbers, just like how we're obsessed with curating those beautiful images. They don't see beneath those numbers, just like how we don't see the captions/content beneath those carefully curated visuals. When it comes to advertising, some brands and companies rather believe in superficial things like numbers  than hard work and creativity. It irks me, really.

True Love @ Neverland Café

Here we are again with another food/café post. It took me long enough, but I finally had the time to sit down proper, open up my editing software(s) and start editing all my overdue pictures taken from my past café hop and oversea travels.

In early November last year, I went on a short getaway with my Poly friends to Bangkok Thailand. Prior to this trip, we had a bit of debate as to where and when is the best time for us to put away our busy work schedule and go on a trip together. But because we're all working adults now, it's pretty hard complementing as some of our schedules may clash. So after much discussion, we settled for a 5 day 4 night trip to Bangkok. But as seen from the title, this post will be focusing on True Love @ Neverland Café instead of my Bangkok travelogue.

Besides all the cheap food and shopping that everyone has heard of. One of the highlight of this trip is to visit True Love Cafe. Located in the middle of a quiet street in the neighbourhood, it is quite inconvenient for you to travel there by foot. What I'll recommend is to book a grab or take a TukTuk there. From my own experience, my friends and I (5 people) we took TukTuk from Platinum Mall to True Love Cafe for about 100-200 Baht? I can't really remember the exact amount but considering the fact we, 5 people squeezed in a TukTuk and travel to the cafe for quite a distance for 200 Baht - $8 SGD, it's pretty much worth it.

A Closure To 2017

As 2017 is coming to an end, I've decided to write down some of the highlights that has happened. I know many have already posted their yearly recap/reflections on instagram or insta-story, but personally I feel its better to write it here and leave it as it is. 10 years down the road, I can come back and read at my hideous grammar and vocab. LOL!

I can't help but to feel ashamed of myself. HAHAHAHA! Cause I barely even achieve half of it. But I'm glad that I manage to travel 3-4 times this year, that is if you wanna include army overseas exercise as one of it. Haha! And also putting in more effort into my meet up with friends.

How To Fix Your Photobucket 3rd Party Hosting Issues

Today's post will be more for people like me who is constantly online using photo hosting websites to share our photos via embedded links etc. Until about half a year ago, Photobucket decides to shit at us without giving us any warning. *Note* no user were informed prior to them replacing all our images with what you're gonna see below.


Everyone who uses photobucket as their main photo hosting platform were furious. Lucky I had switched to Flickr at the early 2014. So only my photos embedded here before 26th Feb 2014 were affected. I had tried several method and researching solutions to it but only found disappointment. Until I came across this video on YouTube which was posted only about a month ago. I immediately went to try it *BOOM*! It really works. So now I am gonna show you guys the solution to making your pictures appear again.

Back in the month of September, my friends (Poly Year 3 Clique) celebrated my belated and Garey's birthday in advance. You know as we grow older, we tend to pretty much used up all the tricks up our sleeves and we sort of got not much creative juices left. That's why when these years we just forgo all the "surprises" and just straight up ask what the birthday boy/girl want for their birthday. This year, my friends manage to find a cool place to hang out and have our dinner at.

My Army Story Part 2

So after our POP also known as Passing Out Parade, all recruits are entitled to 1 week block leave. So in this 1 week leave most of us will be going overseas, hang out with friends, etc. For me, well I'm pretty much the latter cuz I'm too broke to go overseas. LOL!

On the last few days of our block leave is the day where the army tekong group chat become super active. Your alert/notification is constantly flooding with messages one. Because this is when we'll receive our postings on our next phase of army life. Whether you get posted to SCS (Sergeant Cadet School), OCS (Officer Cadet School) or Unit (basically a trooper or driver or medic). And guess what?!?!?! I was posted to a unit. A BAD ONE SOMEMORE!!! Its more like a dumping ground when you're nowhere good or bad. I cried, I cried so bad cuz I really didn't want to spend another 1.5 years going outfield and having to CHIONG all the way. It's like BMT all over again but at another level higher.



UNIT LIFE DAY 1
Can't remember its 21st or 22nd December that I got posted to 4th Singapore Infantry Battalion (4SIR) yeap the dumping ground that I was talking about earlier on. Who would have thought, I so "nua", can't even barely get Silver for my IPPT already, yet I'm posted to a "CHIONG SUA" unit. So together with some of my Gryphon Kias, Matthew, Ben, Jeffrey just to name a few, we were all super reluctant to report to camp. Firstly, the camp is right opposite a fucking cemetry. Secondly, we all went to google information about this camp so that we have a heads up of what to expect. Basically, nothing. LOL! We only found some information on hardware zone from the previous troopers who have already ORD saying that the cookhouse food is awesome, the bunk is haunted, toilet is haunted etc. I mean, what do you expect??? We're staying in 24hrs, 5 days a week opposite a cemetery!!!

My Army Story Part 1

It has been so long since I last posted an entry and I guess its about time to update this little online diary of mine. If you have been following me on my instagram/snapchat, you would have probably know that I've ORD almost a month ago. After a long consideration and procrastination, I've decided to search high and low for all the photos that are related to my army days and do up a timeline of my 2 years of serving the army.

30th July 2015 (BMT)

Like most boys who have just finished their tertiary education, I was enlisted to Pulau Tekong for my Basic Military Training. There are some who are of "special case" where they'll get posted to Mono intake also known as unit directly but I'll get to that at a later part of this story.

Last week, Teenage teams organized a cafe hopping session together with the Teenage Gorgeous You 2017 finalists. As we're waiting for everyone to arrive at the venue. The team drop a huge surprise challenge for us, and that is we need to shoot, film, and edit a video by the end of the cafe hopping session and submit it, and it be used as our video and instagram submission. To add on to the difficulty, we will be doing the challenge in pairs and I'm paired up with Tyler (@Tylomere). Good thing I paired with him because he's super easy to work with. We split up the workload with him taking/editing the photos while I shoot/edit the videos. And I must say we worked really well as a team. :)
